Scholarships for Government Majors
Majoring in government can lay the groundwork for a range of careers – from being a journalist to becoming an elected official. First, however, you need to figure out how to pay for school. Luckily, government majors – or aspiring government majors – are eligible for a variety of scholarships offered by nonprofit foundations, industry groups, government agencies and other organizations. Some scholarships for government majors are reserved for graduating high school seniors, while others are open to students currently pursuing a degree. Applicants may need to demonstrate academic excellence by maintaining a minimum GPA. In some cases, financial need or membership in an underrepresented group is considered. Also, applicants may be required to submit an essay and letters or recommendation. Learn more about scholarships available to government majors below.
