Anthony "Tony" Gobar Juvenile Justice Scholarship Fund
Community Foundation of Greater Jackson
This scholarship was established in memory of Anthony "Tony" Gobar of Jackson, a long-time juvenile justice specialist who died of a heart attack in 2004. Tony was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple things in life, had a selfless spirit and willingness to always help another person. He dedicated himself to making his community a better place, especially when it came to troubled youth who found themselves in the state's criminal justice system. This scholarship in his honor benefits full-time junior or senior students at a public university in Mississippi or at Southern University in Louisiana. Students must be majoring in criminal justice, political science, or counseling. Students must also have a career interest in juvenile justice or a related field and must demonstrate a strong commitment to community and public service. Award amount may be used for tuition, books and room and board.

- Age/Grade Level:A full-time junior or senior at a public university in Mississippi or at Southern University in Louisiana.
