Scholarships for Type 1 Diabetes Sufferers
If you have type 1 diabetes and are successfully managing the condition with proper exercise, medication and diet, then you may be eligible for a variety of college scholarships. Organizations that provide scholarships for students with type 1 diabetes include Team Type 1, the Diabetes Scholars Foundation, the Scott & Kim Verplank Foundation, the American Association of Health and Disability, the Kids With Courage Foundation and others. Some of these scholarships are offered to students in any field of study, while others are only available to students majoring in a particular subject, such as healthcare, disability research or law. In order to apply, students may need to meet a minimum GPA, write an essay, provide letters of recommendation and provide documentation of their type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
