Scholarships for Social Services Majors

A career in social services or social work requires at least a four-year degree, and in many cases a graduate degree. If paying tuition for a bachelor's or master's degree seems a bit daunting, you can rest assured that there are many scholarships to be found. Many awards are funded by professional associations and community foundations, such as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work (ABE). Many colleges and universities offer scholarships for social services majors; the amount of these funds and eligibility requirements vary. For these awards, students might need to show financial need and academic success and supply a personal essay and letters of recommendation.
