Jewish Scholarships
Many Jewish groups and organizations offer scholarships specifically for Jewish students. While some of these scholarships are based on religious involvement, others are awarded solely on the basis of a student’s Jewish heritage. Eligibility requirements for these scholarships vary. They may include an applicant planning to attend school in Israel or study Jewish history or religion. Academic achievement or financial need also may be considered. Scholarships for Jewish students are offered by a variety of organizations, such as the Jewish Community Center, the American Jewish League, the American Jewish Archives and the Jewish Social Service Agency. During the application process, students may be required to submit essays, academic transcripts, records of volunteer work, letters of recommendation or other materials.
