Scholarships for Alabama Residents
If you are an Alabama resident attending college in the state, you should know that there are a variety of scholarship opportunities available to you. Many of these scholarships are funded by nonprofit and state-sponsored organizations, such as the Alabama Student Assistance Program, the Alabama Student Grant Program, the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation and the CollegeCounts Scholarship Program. Other scholarships are offered by individual colleges, such as Jacksonville State University, the University of Alabama and Auburn University. Applicants will typically need to submit an essay, provide SAT scores or meet a minimum GPA. Financial need, choice of major or membership in an underrepresented group also may be considered.
