Iowa National Guard Educational Assistance Grant (NGEAP) is given to Iowa National Guard Members who are pursuing a certificate or undergraduate degree at an eligible Iowa college or university. The scholarship provides a 100% amount of the average regent tuition rate. The applicant must be an Iowa resident.

  • Other Academic Requirements:
    A qualified individual cannot receive an NGEAP award for more than 120 semester credit hours or the equivalent of undergraduate study.
  • Residence:
    The applicant must be an Iowa resident.
  • College:
    The applicant must be pursuing a certificate or undergraduate degree at an eligible Iowa college or university (students with BA degrees are not eligible to participate even if pursuing a second BA degree) and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Military:
    The scholarship is open to member of an Iowa Army or Air National Guard unit for each term the member receives benefits.
  • Miscellaneous:
    The applicant must satisfactorily complete required Guard training and maintain a satisfactory performance of Guard duty.
