Scholarships for the Visually Impaired

If you’re a current or future college student who’s visually impaired, you may be eligible for a number of scholarships. Some scholarships for visually impaired students are available to students in every state, while others are only available to students in certain states and regions. The organizations that provide scholarships for the visually impaired include the National Federation of the Blind, the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International, the American Council of the Blind, Lighthouse International and others. Additionally, some scholarships are also offered by individual universities, such as those funded by George Mason University and George Washington University. In order to apply, students may need to write an essay, provide medical documentation of their visual impairment, meet a minimum GPA or submit letters of recommendation.
