Scholarships for Virginia Residents
As the first permanent colony in what was to become the Unites States, Virginia is certainly one of the most historically important states in the country. If you live in Virginia, there’s another important thing to know about your state: Your residency could qualify for college scholarships. Many of the available scholarships are made possible by the state of Virginia through programs like the Virginia Guaranteed Assistance Program, the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant and the Granville P. Meade Scholarship. Others are funded by individual colleges and universities, like Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, Liberty University and James Madison University. Potential recipients may need to demonstrate financial need, provide official transcripts, meet a minimum grade point average or submit an application essay to qualify.
