Swimming Scholarships

Even if you broke your high school’s record time for the 100 meter backstroke, that won’t make it any easier for you to pay for college. Luckily, a number of swimming scholarships are available. Some of the available scholarships are offered by organizations such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Additionally, Division I and II colleges and universities award athletes with sports-based scholarships, while Division III colleges and universities award athletes with academics-based scholarships. Requirements vary from scholarships to scholarship, but applying students will generally need to make it onto the swim team of their college of choice, meet a minimum grade point average, submit official transcripts or demonstrate a certain level of financial need.
