Scholarships for Vocal Majors
Whether they dream of being the next Celine Dion or fantasize about singing advertising jingles, vocal majors have a lot of career options ahead of them. Before they can sing their way to the top, however, Vocal Majors need to cover the cost of their degree. If you’re a Vocal Major looking for ways to pay for your college education, you may want to consider applying to one or more scholarships. Some of the available scholarships are offered by various foundations and organizations such as the Young Singers Foundation, the Associated Male Choruses of America, the United Negro College Fund, the National YoungArts Foundation, the National Opera Association and the Rislov Foundation. Others are funded by individual colleges and universities such as Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Slippery Rock University, Arkansas State University, Coe College, Frostburg State University and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Requirements vary from scholarship to scholarship, but students will generally need to submit samples of their work, demonstrate a specified level of financial need, meet a minimum grade point average or exhibit community involvement.
