Scholarships for Giles, VA Residents
Giles County might be small, but it is unique. After all, it is home to Cascade Falls, one of the most stunning waterfalls in the country. And, if you call Giles County home, that fact alone may make you eligible for one or more college scholarships. Several scholarships are available through the Community Foundation of the New River Valley, which has awarded $3 million in grants and scholarships since 1997. Others are funded by nearby colleges such as Bluefield College, Mountain Empire Community College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Hollins University and Wytheville Community College. Depending on which scholarship they apply for, students may be required to meet a minimum grade point average, write an essay, submit a Student Aid Report (SAR), demonstrate a certain level of financial need or obtain letters of recommendation.
