Scholarships for Descendants of World War I Veterans
If you’re a descendant of World War I veterans, rest assured that your family’s service has not been forgotten. If you’re descended from World War I veterans and you’re looking for ways to pay for your college education, you may automatically qualify for one or more scholarships. Available scholarships include the La Verne Noyes Scholarship, which is offered at 48 different colleges across the country, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors Presidents’ Scholarship, which is open to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of veterans who served in various wars including World War I. Requirements vary, but applying students will generally need to provide documentation of their ancestors’ service in World War I, meet a minimum grade point average, attend a specific college or complete community service hours.
