Scholarships for Astronomy Majors
Astronomy Majors study space, stars, galaxies, planets and the universe as a whole. Before you can make a groundbreaking cosmic discovery, however, you’ll first need to figure out how to pay for your higher education. Luckily, you may qualify for one or more scholarships simply by being an Astronomy Major. Some of the available scholarships are provided by organizations such as the National Society of Black Physicists and the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship Program. Others are funded by individual colleges and universities such as Minnesota State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Hawaii and the University of Iowa. In order to apply, students will generally need to meet a minimum grade point average, submit official transcripts, demonstrate a certain level of financial need or obtain letters of recommendation.
