Scholarships for Ottawa County (MI) Residents
With its authentic Dutch windmill, multiple lighthouses and millions of brightly colored tulips, Ottawa County, Michigan, bears more of a resemblance to a fairytale than it does to a typical county. However, if your idea of a fairytale involves college rather than windmills, you’re not out of luck: you may be eligible for one or more college scholarships simply by being a resident of Ottawa County. Many of the available scholarships are provided by the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area. Others are funded by nearby colleges, such as Western Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Muskegon Community College, Calvin College and Cornerstone University. In general, applying students will need to demonstrate a certain level of financial need, meet a minimum grade point average, display community involvement or provide proof of academic excellence.
