Scholarships for Maryland Residents
Maryland is home to the famous Chesapeake Bay, a diverse array of wild animals and heavily forested mountains. In addition, Marylanders also enjoy a number of college scholarships specifically reserved for Maryland residents. Many of the available scholarships are made possible by the state of Maryland, including the Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access Grant, the Maryland Delegate Scholarship and the Maryland Senatorial Scholarship, in addition to several other career-specific programs. Others are funded by individual universities, such as the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, Towson University and Montgomery College. Applying students will generally be required to meet a minimum grade point average, and may also need to demonstrate financial need, obtain letters of recommendation or write a submission essay.
