Scholarships for Georgia Residents
If you are a Georgia high school senior looking to stay within your state to attend college, you'll be happy to know that there are many scholarships available to help offset the cost of tuition and fees. By submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be downloaded through the U.S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid website, your state financial aid program can determine eligibility for scholarships. Once your need has been determined, you will be eligible to apply for various state-funded awards. Many of these require a specific GPA (in some cases at least a 3.0) and full-time enrollment status. Others target specific applicants, such as those who have served in the military or are pursuing a particular career, such as a teacher or nurse. Memorial and privately-funded scholarships are also available to Georgia residents and eligibility varies but could include gender, ethnicity or other requirements. Still other scholarships are funded by corporations and professional associations. Find the scholarship that's right for you by taking a look at the list below.
