Scholarships for Foreign Lanuage Majors

We live in a global community, which becomes more and more interconnected with each passing day. As such, the need for multilingual professionals and translators is growing. Employment opportunities are vast as governments and businesses are in constant need of qualified graduates with advanced proficiency in a variety of languages. There are a many career paths to choose from, including international trade, education, foreign relations, national security, education, hospitality and social work. To ease the high cost of pursuing a college degree, a variety foreign language scholarships are available. Preference often is given to students specializing in what are designated as 'critical need languages,' such as Arabic, Chinese and Russian. Scholarship applicants often must meet a minimum GPA requirement and demonstrate some degree of proficiency in their chosen language of study.
