Scholarships for Ecology Majors
Ecologists can save the world. This may seem like an overstatement, but when you consider that ecologists learn how to improve environmental quality, utilize renewable resources and create a stronger connection between people and nature, it doesn’t seem too far off. If you’re an ecology major looking for a way to pay for your college education, a scholarship might be the right solution for you. Some of the available scholarships are funded by professional organizations, such as the Environmental Consortium of Colleges and Universities, the Ecological Society of America and the Garden Club of America. Others are offered by individual universities, including Indiana State University, Colorado State University, Ohio State University and the University of Maine. In general, applicants will be required to meet a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and may also need to demonstrate financial need, submit an essay or obtain letters of recommendation.
