Scholarships for California Residents
From the mountains to the sea, there are a lot of perks that come with living in California. And if you're a resident of the Golden State who is attending college, add another one to the list: myriad scholarship opportunities. A number of these available scholarships are funded by the state of California through the California Student Aid Commission. Many more scholarships are provided by local community foundations up and down the state, such as the San Diego Community Foundation, the Community Foundation for Monterey County, the San Francisco Foundation and the Humboldt Area Foundation. Applying students will usually need to meet a minimum grade point average and submit official transcripts, and may also be required to write a short essay or demonstrate community involvement.
