Scholarships for Basketball
If you’re just as passionate about scoring 3-pointers as you are about scoring well on examinations, then a basketball scholarship might be a good fit for you. In addition to demonstrating excellent athletic skills, students shooting for a basketball scholarship often must also meet certain academic requirements, which can include attaining a minimum GPA and performing at a specified level on the SAT. Applicants also may need to demonstrate leadership skills on and off the court and submit letters of recommendation. Some basketball scholarships are offered by nonprofit community foundations, while others are offered by sports associations, such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes or the National Junior College Athletic Association.
