Association for Women Geoscientists
This award was named after Suzanne Takken, an avid traveler and strong supporter of women in geoscience. Suzanne spent a long career in Oklahoma as a petroleum and consulting geologist. The award aims to support women geoscience students to present their research at a national or international professional geoscience meeting other than the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America. Eligible applicants are female students who are currently enrolled in a BA, BS, Masters, or PhD program or the equivalent majoring in geoscience or a closely related discipline.
