Squint and Juanita Moore Scholarship

Squint and Juanita Moore Scholarship was established by the Chipeta Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society, the oldest continuing chapter of the state society founded in Montrose in 1935. The scholarship was made possible in December 2004 to honor the Moores. The Squint Moore showed his lifelong interest and dedication to the field of archaeology. The scholarship awards $750 funds to support formal school study, field work, or on-going professional work.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Applicants must be high school, college or graduate students.
- Financial Need:Preferred
- Residence:Applicants must be residing in or from the Montrose, Delta, Gunnison, Mesa, San Miguel, and Ouray counties of Colorado.
- Major/Career:Eligible for students currently enrolled in or planning to study archaeology and/or anthropology or closely related field.

- Judging Criteria:Scholarship applications are evaluated on an objective and competitive basis, considering academic and nonacademic factors such as financial need, leadership, community service, and special circumstances.
