Sports Journalism Institute provides a nine-week training and internship for college students who wants to pursue sports journalism. The program also includes a paid sports internship and a $500 scholarship after the internship. There are 10 students that are selected for the program.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:The applicants should be college sophomores or juniors (current seniors will also be considered).
- Financial Need:Not Mentioned
- Major/Career:The applicants must be interested in sports journalism.
- Other Benefits:The eligible participants can get specialized training, a paid sports news internship, and industry contacts.

- Judging Criteria:Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated interest in sports journalism as a career and excellence on the required essay.

- Essay:A personal essay on what this program would mean to you (500 words maximum).
- Recommendation Letters:The application must include two letters of recommendation.
- Portfolio/Work Samples:Applicants must submit work samples (no more than 10). If you are a writer, please make into on package as a PDF. If you are showing videos, send via dropbox.
