- College:Must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year, accredited college institution in Hawai`i or the continental U.S.
- Major/Career:Must pursue a study major in the Hawaiian language, including Hawaiian culture and history
- Miscellaneous:Must demonstrate interest in Hawaiian language, culture, history; Must demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community
