Sam and Lindsey Porter Scholarship was established in memory of Sam and Lindsey Porter from the citizens and organizations in Independence. The memorial fund raised several thousand dollars at Truman Heartland Community Foundation. The balance from the raised fund was used to create a scholarship endowment.
