This scholarship was established by Robert E. and Kathleen A. Vanderberg and family. Robert E. and Kathleen A. Vanderberg are longtime residents of Bay City, Michigan. They were actively promoting and participating in scouting programs and many members of the Vanderbergs' have attained the level of Eagle Scout. For Mrs.Vanderberg, scouting is a "family program" requiring the participation of the entire family and provides exceptional leadership training. This scholarship benefits students attending a four-year university who are Eagle Scout members.
