Rita L. LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year

American Association of Nurse Anesthetists

The AANA Foundation established this award in 2006 to recognize an individual who has gone beyond the call of duty as a supporter of the AANA Foundation other philanthropic organizations. The awardee must demonstrate a strong philanthropic spirit and motivates others to give through his or her charitable actions. This award is through a nomination to be made by members of the AANA, members of the AANA Foundation Board of Trustees, and AANA staff.

    Must be a member of the AANA
  • Other Benefits:
    Airfare and two nights of lodging for the Annual Congress;Registration for the Annual Congress;Publicity in various AANA and AANA Foundation publications throughout the following year.

  • Judging Criteria:
    Award selection will be based on AANA membership, direct financial support given to ANNA Foundation and other deserving charitable organizations, volunteerism both within and outside of the nurse anesthesia profession and support to ANNA foundation through giving their time, talent and treasure (i.e. participation in Foundation committees, volunteering at the Foundation Booth, being a solicitor, providing donations, etc.)

    Answer the following questions. Please limit your responses to 500 words or less PER QUESTION, for a maximum of 2,500 words TOTAL. 1) Describe the ways in which this individual has provided and continues to provide direct financial support for the AANA Foundation.2) Describe the ways in which this individual has provided and continues to provide direct financial support for other deserving charitable organizations. 3) Describes this individuals volunteer efforts within the nurse anesthesia profession.4) Describe this individuals volunteer efforts towards other deserving organizations. 5) Describe any other ways that this individual has made the world a better place.
