Ph.D. Engineering Fellowship
The National GEM Consurtium
This fellowship was established to support underrepresented minority students for doctoral fellowships. Students must have completed or currently enrolled in a masters in an engineering program, or received admittance into a PhD program directly from a bachelors degree program. This fellowship may be used at any participating GEM Member University where the GEM Fellow is admitted. The GEM University will have continued support for fellows from the first academic year of being awarded the fellowship until their graduate program, given that they will maintain good academic standing and made satisfactory progress.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Must be a senior, masters student, or graduate of an accredited engineering or applied science program at the time of application.
- Minimum GPA:3.0
- Financial Need:Not Mentioned
- Residence:U.S. permanent resident (or U.S Citizen)
- Citizenship:Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or (U.S. permanent resident) at time of application.
- College:Fellowships may be used at any participating GEM Member University where the GEM Fellow is admitted.
- Major/Career:Applicants must be a senior, masters student, or graduate of an accredited engineering or applied science program at the time of application.
- Ethnicity:Underrepresented minority students:American Indian/NativeAfrican American/BlackHispanic American/Latino
- Miscellaneous:Applicants must contractually agree to intern with a GEM Employer member the Summer immediately after sponsorship.
- Other Benefits:Additional stipend (assistantships, grants, other stipend dollars) support from GEM Member University to bring the stipend amount up to the funding level of other funded PhD students in that department. Full tuition and fees up to the fifth year of the PhD program
