This program was established to benefit children and spouses of peace officers, fire fighters and certain other safety officers who are killed in the line-of-duty, anywhere in the United States. Children and spouses of a member of the armed services of the US, who has been killed in the line of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom or a combat zone designated by the President of the United States are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Recipients may enroll for full-time or part-time study at any participating Ohio post-secondary institution.
- Financial Need:Not Mentioned
- Residence:Recipients must be Ohio residents.
- College:Public colleges and universities and private and proprietary post-secondary institutions.
- Military:Children and spouses of a member of the armed services of the US, who has been killed in the line of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom or a combat zone designated by the President of the United States.
- Employer:Children and spouses of peace officers, fire fighters and certain other safety officers who are killed in the line-of-duty, anywhere in the United States.

- Other Materials:- Copy of Marriage Certificate ( For child or spouse of a member of the armed services of the US )- Copy of Report of Casualty ( For child or spouse of a member of the armed services of the US )- You must get a letter from Vicki Whyte (614.628.8350) or Sunea Johnson (614.628.8376) at the Policemen and Firemen's Pension Board or a letter from the police chief or fire chief indicating that the parent or spouse was killed in the line of duty.
