The Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship is provided to junior or senior level college student from 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who majors in the field of nursing. The program was established in memory of Nancy Gerald. The scholarship is a one-time award of $500 funds.

  • Residence:
    The applicant must be a legal permanent resident (or U.S. citizen). They must also be from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle.
  • Citizenship:
    The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen (or a legal permanent resident).
  • College:
    The applicant must be attending Amarillo College or West Texas A & M University.
  • Major/Career:
    Students must be a nursing major in the field of AAS (Associate of Applied Science) Program, BSN (Bachelor of Science Nurse) Program and MSN (Masters of Science Nurse) Program.

  • Recommendation Letters:
    Two (2) letters of recommendation - one letter should be from a teacher you had in high school and the second letter should be from a pastor, employer, coach, mentor, etc. Letters written by family members are not permitted.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicant must submit their proof of U.S. Citizenship (photocopy of U.S. birth certificate) or legal permanent residency status, ACT and/or SAT scores (if scores appear on the back of your high school transcript, no additional documents are necessary), page one (1) of current year IRS tax Form 1040 for household (if current year is not available, previous year will be accepted).
