This scholarship was established in honor of Mary Lucille (Lucille) Runkel, a Registered Nurse in Greenville, Meadville, Kittaning, Mercer and Cochranton, Pennsylvania as well as at the Polk State School. She was loved caring for people, gentle, friendly, ambitious and determined. The program benefits students who are residents of Crawford County or Mercer County, Pennsylvania who wants to become a Registered Nurse. Applicants must be planning to enroll at an accredited two-year community college or four-year college/university in a program leading to an associate degree in nursing or bachelor of science in nursing.
