Graduating high school seniors from high schools in Ventura County enrolling full-time in a four-year accredited college or university OR Ventura County community college students who are transferring to a four-year accredited college or university for an undergraduate degree.

Any major, but preference in the selection process given to arts, humanities, or natural or physical science majors.

Required essay topic: describe your college objectives and discuss your desired future achievements. Prior recipients may apply for consideration in successive years. Essays must be a total of 500-700 words overall.

2 letters of recommendation required, at least 1 from a current teacher at the school you attend. You will need the email addresses of your teachers, counselors,professors, employers in order to send them an email request for letters of recommendation. You may request paper letters of recommendation. If you choose to do this, you will upload electronic versions of the letters with your online scholarship application. Please note: VCCF does not accept letters of recommendation from family members of applicants.
