This scholarship was established by James McCavitt in honor of his parents, James A. McCavitt and Annie LePors McCavitt. This opportunity was inspired by a story that Mr. McCavitt saw in the paper about the Sze Lee Memorial Scholarship. Through this scholarship, Mr. McCavitt hopes that his parents will be remembered throughout the Tussey Mountain School District and the Broad Top area in Pennsylvania as model parents. This is open to current graduating seniors from the Tussey Mountain School District in Pennsylvania. Applicants must have to complete all four years at his/her school and be planning to attend n a college or university as full-time students. Students must be pursuing a career in the field of education, nursing, law enforcement, medical research or social work. Demonstrated financial need is required.
