I.E. Scott Award

Texas Environmental Health Association

This award was started in 1977 in honor of I.E Scott who was the founding leader in Environmental Health in Texas and was instrumental in the passageof the Registered Sanitarian Act in 1965. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals for superior achievement and attainment of the higheststandards in the environmental health profession, as set by I. E. Scott. This award is through a nomination by the local chapter and by a member of the association who must present the nomination through their local chapter.

    Possess a current, R.S. (or equivalent) earned through the state or NEHA
  • College:
    Possess a current, R.S. (or equivalent) earned through the state or NEHA; it is suggested that a baccalaureate degree be the minimum requirement unless there are specific circumstances;
  • Major/Career:
    Have been engaged in the field of environmental health for a minimum of five years;
  • Organization:
    Be a current member, (may also be awarded posthumously) in good standing, of the Texas Environmental Health Association

    Recommendations from recognized persons in the field of Environmental Health, Public Health or Community Health.
  • Other Materials:
    Nomination which includes Cover page, Letter from the chapter president making the formal nomination, Photograph of the nominee (optional but preferred), Page measurements are 8 X 11 inches. All justifying information must be TYPED using Times New Roman; the type must be no smaller than 12 point; line spacing no smaller than 1 , and the margins no smaller than one half inches on all four sides.
