Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student (HEAPS) Grant Program

West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission

This program was established to support West Virginia students to continue their post-secondary education on a part-time basis. Eligible applicants must be residents of West Virginia and demonstrate financial need.

  • Age/Grade Level:
    Have a high school diploma, TASC (former GED) or high school equivalent
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Residence:
    A West Virginia resident for at least 12 months prior date of application
  • Citizenship:
    U.S Citizen (or Permanent Resident)
  • College:
    A community college, a state college or university or an independent college or university in West Virginia.
  • Miscellaneous:
    - Not be in default on a higher education loan- Not incarcerated in a correctional facility- Comply with the Military Selective Service Act
