The scholarship was established by Herbert and Ollie Brook who felt very welcomed by the Maui Community after they emigrated from Europe. It provides financial assistance to graduating high school senior in Maui County who are seeking a degree in an accredited, two or four-year, not-for-profit institution within the US and plans to contribute to the Maui community after graduation.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Current high school senior
- Minimum GPA:2.70
- Financial Need:Required
- Other Academic Requirements:Attend as a full-time student (as determined by your schools financial aid office)
- Residence:Resident of the State of Hawaii
- School:Current high school senior at a high school in Maui County
- College:Attend an accredited, two or four-year, not-for-profit institution within the US
- Miscellaneous:Preference for students who can persevere and complete a program of study; Preference is given to individuals who want to return to Maui County after completing their education or training in order to contribute to the community that formed them
