Through a bequest from the estate of Gail and Hilda Oster, this scholarship was established to support graduating high school senior or graduates from a Van Buren County high school. Applicants must be pursuing study in the field of education, mathematics or science at the University of Michigan or Western Michigan University. Students who are enrolling or enrolled in a graduate program at the Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine or pursuing a degree in medicine at the Homer Stryker MD Medical School are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Graduating high school senior or graduate; Enrolling or enrolled in a graduate program at the Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
- Minimum GPA:2.75
- Financial Need:Required
- Residence:Van Buren County resident
- School:Graduates of a high school in Van Buren County.
- College:University of Michigan or Western Michigan University; Pursuing a degree in medicine at the Homer Stryker MD Medical School.
- Major/Career:Planning to pursue or are pursuing bachelor's degrees at Western Michigan University or the University of Michigan in the fields of education, mathematics or science; enrolling or enrolled in a graduate program at the Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine; or are pursuing a degree in medicine at the Homer Stryker MD Medical School.
