Extraction & Processing Division Scholarship

Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS)

Supported by the TMS Extraction & Processing Division, the scholarship is available to sophomore or junior undergraduate students enrolled full-time in a metallurgical/materials science engineering program and majoring in the extraction and processing of minerals, metals and materials. To be eligible, applicant must also be a student member of Material Advantage.

    Must be enrolled full-time in a metallurgical/materials science engineering program and be majoring in the extraction and processing of minerals, metals and materials

  • Other Benefits:
    Each scholarship recipient is also given up to five Extraction & Processing Division-sponsored conference proceedings or textbooks to be donated in the recipients name to his/her college or university library; Awards are presented during the Extraction & Processing Division luncheon at the TMS Annual Meeting and Exhibition. Up to $500 for travel expenses is available to each recipient in order to accept the award at the luncheon.

    Scholarship recipients are chosen by specially appointed selection committees. The following judging criteria are employed: Relevance of Coursework/Experience to division's focus; Scholarship Application; Academic Achievement; Activities in and out of School, Including Work Experience; Leadership; Personal Profile Statement; Letters of Recommendation

    Include an individual statement describing unique educational experiences (e.g., special projects), career plans, leadership experience, involvement ina Material Advantage chapter, and community involvement. This statement should be no more than 200 words.

    Three (3) TMS Scholarship Recommendation Forms from educators and/or employees who are familiar with your background
