Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:The applicant must be either a classified undergraduate or graduate student.
- Financial Need:Required
- Other Academic Requirements:The applicant must be a full-time student.
- Character Traits:The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community.
- College:The applicant must be enrolled in a two- or four-year, accredited college institution in Hawai`i or the continental U.S.
- Major/Career:The applicant must demonstrate an interest in the Hawaiian language, culture, and history.

- Recommendation Letters:The applicant must submit two letters of recommendation; one from a teacher or counselor and one from a community organization or other citing how the applicant is working toward perpetuating the Hawaiian language.
- Other Materials:The application must include a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
