Dr. Alfred & Ruth Beattie Healthcare Careers Scholarship is an annual fund of $2,000 given to graduates of a public or private high school in Wicomico County. The scholarship provides support to students who have completed at least one year of undergraduate study. The award may be renewed depending on the academic progress of the student.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age/Grade Level:
    The scholarship is open to high school graduates or undergraduate students.
  • Minimum GPA:
    3.0
  • Financial Need:
    Required
  • Other Academic Requirements:
    The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student and who have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
  • School:
    The scholarship must be graduates of a public or private high school in Wicomico County.
  • College:
    The applicant must be attending an accredited four-year college or university, or accredited two-year institution.
  • Major/Career:
    The applicant must be pursuing a degree in the healthcare field with the exceptionof pre-medical or pre-dental preparation programs.
  • Miscellaneous:
    Priority will be given to students with the greatest financial need and strong ties to the Eastern Shore.

    One letter of recommendation from an instructor in their field.
  • Other Materials:
    Applicant must submit a proof of graduation from a Wicomico County High School, a proof of enrollment from college or university and a copy of parent/guardian/or students most recent income tax return.
