Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:The program is intended for individuals who either earned their doctorate degree or completed a primary residency within three years of their proposed start date.

- Citizenship:U.S. Citizen (or Permanent Resident). If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, you must provide evidence of a valid J-1 visa prior to starting your tenure at the CDC. The ASM/CDC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program supports only the J-1 visa.

- Judging Criteria:Award selection will be based on scientific merit and training potential of the research proposal, training resources and environment from the identified preceptor, and congruence with the Centers for Diseases public health mission.

- Recommendation Letters:Letters of Recommendation (minimum of 3 required): All Recommendations are due on January 15, 2016; so contact your recommenders in advance of submitting your application. Remind your recommender to submit his/her ranking in the letter of support. Applications will not be reviewed without the documented ranking.
