East Texas Historical Association
Established in honor of Dr. Archie P. McDonald, the scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who are history majors, with preference to those specializing in Texas history, especially East Texas history.

Eligibility Requirements
- Age/Grade Level:Undergraduate and graduate students, attending full time as defined by the university
- Minimum GPA:3.0
- Financial Need:Not Required
- Other Academic Requirements:Must be full time students as defined by the university. Exceptions can be made for last semester seniors who need fewer hours to complete requirements for graduation; GPA must be 3.0 overall and 3.2 in History
- College:Must attend to universities and colleges located in East Texas, defined as those schools east of IH 35 and extending southeasterly from Dallas to Houston
- Major/Career:Must be history majors, with preference to those specializing in Texas history, especially East Texas history
- Miscellaneous:Need may be considered, if all things are equal between candidates
