- Essay:Essays: Students are required to submit an essay up to 1,500 words. The essay is evaluated by reviewers and it is expected to address educational and/or career goals, decision for undertaking their area of study, interest in and motivation to continue higher education, demonstrate an understanding of the importance of college and the students commitment to complete the educational program undertaken, and demonstrate the students plan and/or desire to make a difference in or impact their community.
- Recommendation Letters:Letters of Recommendation: Students must submit TWO (2) letters of recommendation. We require one letter from an individual familiar with your academic success (teacher, advisor, professor). The second letter may be submitted by a non-relative who is familiar with your academic and other achievements. Students will utilize the scholarship application platform to request recommendations. Be prepared with recommenders email information and be sure to allow them time to submit before the deadline.
- Other Materials:Applicants must be an enrolled member of a federally or state recognized American Indian Tribe; Alaskan Native Village or be Native Hawaiian. Applicants may also provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card demonstrating at least 25% Native blood quantum.
